This adorable couple met at Michigan State and had a long romance from a distance before they decided to join each other in Colorado. They had lots of friends and family from Illinois and Michigan come to join them for this celebration. They couldn’t have had a more beautiful fall day. Their wedding was at a beautiful Catholic Church in Arvada where Michelle had ties. The stained glass and autumn colors showing through really made a gorgeous backdrop for the meaningful wedding mass. We stopped at Lookout Mountain for some photos on our way to the reception where the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour before the dinner got started. After dinner everyone was out on the dance floor breaking it down. What a fun night!

Then Sarah’s bestie told stories of their adventures together and Sarah shared with the crowd how she successfully scared girls’ camping trips with a carefully timed Yeti that showed up at the campfires. Then out of nowhere, guess who showed up on the dance floor?! What a fun group of friends and giant curated kids table (they had their own kids buffet!) this couple had to help them celebrate their special day.

Matthew and Rachel’s Rhize Mountain Retreats Wedding in Pike’s Peak National Forest, Colorado
Matthew and Rachel had a beautiful wedding at Rhize Mountain Retreats. An amazing rustic 43 acre venue with views of Pring Reservoir, the Wet Mountains, Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range to the South and Pikes Peak to the North. They stayed there in one of the glamping A-frames with their wedding party. They had a catered Italian dinner followed by cake and s’mores by the campfire. The bride is from Michigan so her family carried the obligatory Bells Oberon craft beer all the way across the country. The retreat has tons of games and fun things to do like axe throwing which the bride is apparently quite skilled at! Such a sweet couple we had a great time getting to know. If you are looking for a rustic mountain venue off the beaten path, check this place out. It is run by a family who lives on the property, everything ran so smoothly we were so impressed and hope to be back soon!

Adria and Tony’s Evergreen Lake House Wedding in Evergreen, Colorado
Adria and Tony are such a magnetic upbeat couple with so many people who adore them. The wedding was a ceremony in the round that began with “I want to hold your hand” on the cello. Adria surprised Tony as she sang the song as she walked in toward Tony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as her beautiful voice echoed in the Lake House. There was an opportunity for guests to tell stories and give advice to the couple that was so meaningful. After the wedding they partied hard. Have you ever seen a bride do “the worm?” Or a couple eat the bridal bouquet since it was made from vegetables grown by her bestie? She joined in to sing with the band later at the reception. I think the energy is still vibrating from this amazing creative night at the Lakehouse in June. Congratulations to them, we wish them all the best.
